PETS

What do I need to do when my pet dies?

When your pet passes away their body will need to be frozen (not refrigerated) as quickly as possible after death (ideally within an hour) to delay decomposition. To freeze your pet please place them directly in a good quality plastic bag, no clothing, bedding or blankets in with the pet as these items can delay the pets body from freezing, seal the bag, place the entire bag in the deepest part of the freezer and ensure your name and contact details are taped to the outside of the bag. Vet clinics typically have a chest freezer they can keep your pet in as well. Your pet can remain safely frozen in a chest freezer for around 6 months. If your pet is being euthanised at the vets please ask them when possible to avoid shaving your pet as we cannot replace missing hair, and prior to placing your pets body in the freezer can they please remove any tape &/or glue on your pets fur/skin.

Where are you based/can I deliver or post my pet to you?
